I just bought a k70 + 18-135mm lens from Amazon warehouse in very good condition for £444 (before reading about the solenoid issues) and I have considered returning it in case it develops a solenoid issue in the future.

But i read that 2021(or was it 2020) manufactured k70s have the updated solenoid?

Is there any way to check when the camera was manufactured or if it had the new updated solenoid or not?

Manufacture date should be somewhere in the image EXIF data.

I use an app called EXIF Pro on my Android phone and it tells me that my K-3 was manufactured on 2014-11-05. The field is called Manufacture Date and it's under the MakerNotes section in the app. Use the search bar at the top to zero in on it.

So I'll be able to check.
If it's 2021 or later I'll keep it.

So if I did this correctly my K-70 was manufactured in June of 2022.
I guess that means I have the latest goodies inside. That was really cool.
For whatever that means. So far so good. I'll check it again in 5 years or so.
