These are all from my K-70's first 24 hours at home, all JPEG's straight from the camera (except for a bit of brightness/contrast adjustment on the shed photo). I picked up this body because my previous one crapped out, and needless to say I'm thrilled with the upgrade:

obligatory cat photos (because this is the internet!), K-70 + DA50 1.8:

K-70 + DA 50-200. Some day I'm going to need to paint this shed, and then what will I do for black/white/gray in sample shots?

Hi, I'm curious to find out how your previous K-70 "crapped out". This is a new model. I am in the process of trying to get my K-70 returned because of a monitor malfunction. I arrived at the first location of a two-day group photo shoot and I couldn't get the back button to work (it was set up for back button focus), nor the shutter, nor the monitor. Granted it was cold (mid 20's with a wind) but completely within the operating range of the camera. The back button and shutter now work but the monitor turns off after each shot. I have to turn the camera off then on again to get the monitor back on. I bought it from Amazon but it was provided by a third party (Adorama) who says I cannot return it to them because it has been more than 30 days. I bought a protection policy but because it is within the first year, it is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Last Wednesday I left two messages with Precision camera, supposedly the only authorized Pentax repair place (one with my land line number and one with my email address) but nobody has gotten back to me. Amazon says they will help me if all else fails. Well all else has failed and I'm about to call them today. I am not a happy camper. Pentax, are you listening?

Oh, it didn't, and I'm sorry I wasn't more clear! Previous body was a K-500 that developed the aperture control issues common to K-500/K-50/K-30, and I talked myself into getting the upgrade that I was already thinking about, rather than spending more than the old body was worth on a repair. The K-70 is obviously brand new, but I've been very happy with it so far.

After driving to several places after an ice storm hoping to take some glorious pics and finding totally uncooperative sun under thick gray clouds, the sun briefly came partially out through a cloud layer when I pulled back into the driveway. Rose bush out front of my house. Note house across street through the ice especially in second photo. All taken with DFA 100 WR @ 2.8

Used new Silkypix 8.0 Pro which has some interesting new features.

Mexican restaurant

This was shot through the front window of the restaurant in Jerome, Arizona. I had to remove some reflections in Photoshop. Also, used a cartoon filter in Topaz Adjust to bring out the crazy colors.

Hi, Thanks for responding. Great pictures! I'm very glad to hear that it wasn't a K-70 body that crapped out. I got my K-70 back from Precision Camera repair and I think it is OK, although the problem might have been caused by cold temperatures which it might not have to deal with til next winter. Joyce Keay
