Saw some wild orchids on a hike up to a tableland today. Only had my telephoto and UWA lenses with so tried out both. Click pics for exifs...

Saw this rather heroic tree here sailing in Conception Bay yestersay. Just refuses to die, apparently and in fact is now blooming with growth!

As very usual here dark, gray, fog, mist at the time so brightened up in PP.

If you click on the 'My Account' button in the top right corner of the page and select 'Edit Options' from the drop down menu you will get a long list of forum options.

Scroll down to the 'Thread Display Options' section and under 'Thread Display Mode' you can select to show the oldest post first or the newest post first.

Haven't seen a lot of astro photos taken with the K70 so thought I'd post two.

Location: Joshua Tree National Park, California
Date taken: June 17-18, 2017
Camera: K70
Lens: Rokinon 16mm f/2
Filters: Used the Lonely Speck Sharp Star filter for focusing help

Both photos at 16 mm
Skull rock is f/2.5, 10 s, ISO 6400 (taking shameless advantage of other photographer's light painting!)
Milky Way is f/2.0, 20 s, ISO 800 (lit red because I forgot I had my headlamp on)

Amazing pictures EBirdy, especially the second one - I wish we had the same part of the Milky way visible here in Denmark, right now it's not dark enough to do astrophotography.
But, I managed to do some astrophotography from January until March One of the photos, the Whirlpool Galaxy with my K-70 and the M200 F4 lens (26x20sec ISO1600, stacked):

That's a great galaxy shot! California is such a dichotomy - where I live there is horrendous light pollution - can barely see even bright stars. But within a 2-6 hour radius, surprisingly we have a few dark sky areas. I hope to get out at least twice more this year and see what I can capture :-)

At least I do not have any issues with light pollution (besides the sun in the summertime, which is quite annoying when you want to 'shoot' some stars), I have 10km to a very dark place by the North Sea - perfect spot for Astrophotography.

The 18-135 is a truly versatile walk-around lens. I had other lenses with me but never put them on.
