I do plan on exploring the possibilities of this particular combo further.

Still trying to figure out why people (cough J. Polin. cough) say Pentax cameras can't do action/sports. Took this spot focus, single shot, no tracking. With my "slow" 55-300. True, little bit of blur around the the passenger headlight (pretty sure camera locked onto rear wing, my fault for being on spot focus) but still happy.

lol, obviously. Couldn't be happier with my k-70 it's already shown it's only limitation is me. Not to mention the rouge wave and sudden downpour that have proven how rugged it is. Love this camera!

Need to get a pic of that tide race at the north end where it empties into the gulf. What a current!

Stymied re. sailing at the moment. Forestay broke clean off at the upper fitting. Saved mast with sail halyard, but I'm out of the water until I can get a new one swaged.

I've been using the k-70 for around 12 months and surprised at the quality it puts out, I shoot mainly street photography.

Being on the road full time on a motorcycle it lives in my tank bag and I can tell you it is durable, very durable. Not only to heat, cold, adverse weather but also consistent vibration.

According to some research, I found the expected life of the camera is 100-150,000 shots, i'm at 13,000 so some life in it yet, i've abused it thru Canada, US, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Jamaica, Providencia, San Blas and Colombia so far, below are a few random shots

My question is when it does reach the end of its life what would you suggest I choose as a replacement based on what you see and my traveling?

By your own statistics it would seem that you still have at least another 7 years of use! By that time, hopefully Pentax will have released an even better equivalent model. However, if your K-70 succumbs to your harsh usage conditions in a shorter term, perhaps you should replace it with a new K-70. Incidentally, if you have not yet done so, you might shield it from vibrations by lining the tank bag with some thick foam plastic.

P.S. A good set of good images.
