Some pics of Bell Island, Conception Bay, Newfoundland

(crossposted to Earth's bones thread)...

Turrets

Strata plus waterfall

Rounding island's "Clapper" and heading for home 4 hours away by sail.

Bell Island has a whole lot of good photo opportunities.

Relatively recent K-70 newcomer

I've had the K-70 since last spring. It's my first DSLR camera -- an upgrade after many years of using various Canon point-and-shoots. I especially like the wide range of vintage lenses available for reasonable prices; useful for learning which types of lenses I prefer to use without breaking the bank. The cat photo was done with a Pentax A 24-50mm F4. Probably not the ideal lens for shooting a subject 2 feet away, but I like the appearance of depth in this image.

Three shots from the day I visited the London Classic Car Show 2019 in East London on 15th Feb - all with the K-70 and my very old, original version, Sigma 17-70 F2.8-F4.5 (which, I think, was a tremendous bargain at around $100US a couple of years ago)

First 2 taken in the show - amazing (to me) jobs at ISO5000 with no PP except the 1st was simply cropped and the 2nd was straightened, cropped and then vignetted a little.

Third was a "grab shot" through the window of the Docklands Light Railway as we crossed a bridge on the way back into London - had to do more to that to try to sort out the lighting as the foreground shadows were pretty heavy due to the Sun being low in the sky.

First serious session with K-70 as main and trusty old tank K-5 as backup. Also testing the camera in cold environment, around -25C (-13F).
Camera worked fine, the battery meter went to red in taking about 20 shots but ignoring it worked well and total of 90 shots was taken with dark frame NR on. Next day, when everything was warmed up battery showed full again.
I was little worried about the articulating screen, but it didnエt brake up after all.

So, my confidence to K-70 is strong, even when comparing it to K-5 while image quality is definetively better!

Hello, wonderful images, excellent...
I have the same combo k70- k5 and the same conclusion on IQ. Sometimes I wonder how using the K5 now when having tried the k70 ? Maybe for telephoto only, there well might be a category best suited for the k5, what about your opinion ? How do you use it now ?
Again, very well done

Thanks! Well, i think that even as K-70 is better for IQ, K-5 isnエt any worse than it originally was and is still great camera with better ergonomics. Also the K-70 is actually my fiances replacement to her K-x, so she has the priority to it
So i expect the K-5 still getting much use as well as my K-200d at summer!
