is it worth it from the k-50?

looking to see who has done it and it if it worthwhile.

thanks for the feedback.

I'd wait until the next flagship. You're losing the Composition Adjustment, Flash Commander mode, wired shutter trigger (unless you buy the proprietary accessory), and AA compatibility without getting the GPS, build quality and an assortment of features that a flagship APS-C offers.

That is a great summary.

I love my Imperial Storm Trooper K-50, but the K-70 is a clear upgrade for outdoor hiking/sailing use where you need the greater color depth and you often need the ability to crop more heavily. As well, as I live in a foggy, dark subarctic environment, the extra sensitivity is a great boost. I routinely shoot in ISO 400 now on dark days where I would only do that if forced with the K-50.

That's what I think all the time, my cropped K-3 images are often still the same size as an uncropped K-5 or K-30 image in most cases. That certainly frees your mind when framing, knowing you can shoot with room to spare and then crop.

I would love to see some side by side pic comparisons of high ISO. Love my K-50 but I shoot sports for my kids teams and post them for all the parents. NOBODY complains about my pics but I am my biggest critic and when at some schools with not so good lighting I'm cranking up ISO to 5000 and dropping to 2.8 and I dont like the way that looks. I get bad CA with my Tokina 70-200 at 2.8 under the lights where I need it. At our home stadium i can shoot F4,1600, 1/250 and they turn out great. If I could get similar grain out of a K70 around 5000 ISO I would consider upgrading sooner rather than later. However my oldest boys football playing is over (senior year) and I have two years till my youngest is at the high school so I can wait a little before upgrading. The rest I shoot is all day games so no problem there. I can wait for prices do drop a little. Hopefully I can see some side by side shots before I upgrade to see if it's worth it to me.

I can show You some live sample from my K-70 with old 55-300 lens so darker, slower and worse IQ than your 70-200
ISO 800-1600 - a little or no noise reduction - on fashion show: Top Moda Fashion Show Oct 2016 | Flickr
ISO 6400 - quite a lot of noise reduction, but they still look quite good - not fast action but a lot of dark colors here: Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

There's nothing wrong with those at all! Great colours and very clear and bright.
