The K-70 has a max ISO of 102400.
I'm sure at the highest setting it's really grainy and not that useful.

What's the highest ISO on the K-70, that still takes good looking photos?
What is "good"?

Seriously, it depends what effect you want, shootings conditions, the subject, and what you or your client can live with.

Documenting cars on a freeway might be OK at 102400K. Portraits, probably not.

Pretty high actually. 6400, 12800, and even 25600 should be fine in a pinch.
I wonder what the analog max ISO of the K-70 is. I remember someone had posted a set of graphs (PF or DPR, not sure) comparing the ISO performance or amplification of K-1 & D810.

If I remember correctly, the pattern changed after ISO1600, which was suggested as a limit for analog amplification & after that it was all digital. Now DPR said in its review that at ISO3200 and above RAW of K-70 seems to be "baked" by some processing. It could be the same case as that of K-1 & D810.

Would like to get some clarity about this - repercussions of analog and digital amplification (If, at all that's the case), and it's effects on RAW and post-processing.

It's compressed from uploading it into my pentaxforums album, but here's an example that I captured at ISO 10000

You have to decide for yourself what is or is not good. And that might change on purpose.
I have shot ISO 20,000 for low light events and found image acceptable.
Other times, I find ISO 200 too noisy.

Play with it and see.

I am blown away by my 3200 and 6400 pictures. No other camera of mine has ever had such decent pictures at from those big numbers. Sure, above 25,600 you only get internet quality snapshots, but my other cameras, my older ones, only made questionable snapshots at their higher ISOs. I bet the KP follows the same logic and caveats.

It deppends. One picture will be ok at iso 12 800 and other time will be to noisy. If i use auto iso i set it to 100-6400 outdoor. Anyway most indoors shoot looking good even at iso 12800. I also have few outdoors photos in 12800 im happy with.
