There are better cameras for sure but it will cost significantly more to buy one. I also have an Olympus OMD E-M5 (bought used cheap) and it is a nice little camera. It is my just in case I need it glove box camera. Takes great pics. But the Pentax gives me better images. My two cents worth.
And I agree with you! I actually have three - yes 3 - systems these days. My "serious" cameras are a K70 and a Sony a7rii. I have a ton of Pentax glass. The new stuff goes on the K70; I mostly use the 77mm and 15mm Limiteds on it. All my old Voigtlanders and such go on the Sony. I also use the Sony for my 135mm A* f1.8 because it is a bear to manually focus on the K70. (On anything, really.) I did buy two E-Mount lenses: the Sony 85mm f1.8, and the Zeiss 18mm. Because Toys. Also, I got the Sony crazy cheap, and I was interested on how it would do against the K70, best glass against best glass. My output device is an Epson p800. Is the Sony at its best better than the K70? Yes. Can you tell without your nose touching the print? Not really. In fact, as many have said, the big advantage the Sony has is you can crop like crazy and still have plenty of detail. Is the Sony worth the difference in price? Maybe if you are using it professionally, which I don't do anymore. So in my view the K70 is the pound-for-pound winner.
Third system? I bought an Olympus OMD E-M10 (Mark I) used cheap, and stuffed it in my briefcase with the lovely tiny 45mm41.8. MUCH better than a smartphone for when I'm not schlepping the camera bag.
