Recommendation of a WR macro lens for the K-70?

Hi, does anybody have a recommendation for a WR macro lens for a K-70? I've been using the Raynox DCR-150 macro/close-up converter lens with my Pentax 55-300 lens. It's OK but I'm hoping for better results from a dedicated macro lens. Thanks. Joyce Keay

I believe the D FA 100mm (WR) is the only WR macro lens currently available.

If it must be WR, the D FA 100 WR is your one and only choice. Lucky for you it's an amazing lens, and it's often available used here on the marketplace for a reasonable price. For me, I didn't need WR, and I settled on the Sigma 70mm Macro. Another absolutely stunning lens, but I wanted 70mm to double as a portrait lens. Ended up with the FA77 anyway. Sigh, I've got a bad case of LBA. Seems you've started down the same road.

The FA 100mm macro is my fave, too.

I never realised how sharp an APS-C image could be rendered until I acquired the lens second-hand. Provided you pay attention to the focus, its color rendering is sublime.

Thank you all for your replies. I guess I have no choice but luckily the choice is a very good one.

Yes, DFA 100mm WR. Be careful, as there are other versions of the 100mm macro (DFA but not WR, FA, F, and older versions). Only one is WR, this one:
SMC Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro WR Reviews - D FA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database
Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 WR Macro Review - Introduction | PentaxForums.com Reviews
The older versions have practically same optics, but different bodies with different features. They are not WR, but many users get an older one because it might be cheaper, or if they need aperture ring (for film bodies, extension bellows).

I have the WR. Love it, stunning lens! I think its price is fair, because its a pro grade lens

My entire 93 image Flickr mushroom collection is shot with the 100 macro, despite also owning a Tamron 90 macro, an FA 50 macro, a Sigma 70 mcto. and a Sigma 70-300 macro, and despite not owning it before buying it second hand from a forum member earlier this summer. . It's small, WR, fast and lightweight. What's not to like?

The deciding factor for me was having my 50 macro un-intentionally doused, and having to spend some time drying it out. The way it got wet, face down in a pool of water, a WR lens would have been fine. The 50 was un-useable for the rest of the trip.

The DFA 100 macro WR is a great lens. I have got some of my best pictures with this lens, as a macro and as a mid range telephoto. You won't go wrong with this lens.

There is no WR macro available for any brand other than D-FA100. This lens was going for $328 right before the K-1 launch. If you have had not snagged then its probably a good idea to get it now.

I have the non-WR version of the dfa100mm, it pairs very well with the Raynox DCR-250 for extra magnification, so give your incoming macro a try with your DCR-150 if you need to get a bit closer. I'd also suggest a step down filter ring instead of the snap-on raynox device, it keeps things smaller.

Also make sure the rest of your kit is suitable for macro work - tripod and/or external flashes, diffusers, remotes, etc (many options depending on how you like to work and your choice of subject). There are several pieces to the macro puzzle. High-quality optics are of course important, but poor technique can result in poor photos no matter the lens..
