K70 - wow!!!

Been Pentaxless for a couple of years, using some M43 gear, but after looking back at some of my older K5 and K3 images decided to buy another Pentax again last week. Got a brand new K70 for £400 and WOW!!! The images from it are by far the best I've ever taken and so far they are all jpegs straight from the camera! Looking forward to trying some of the new features and playing with some RAW files. I thought I would need to use a K1 to get better images than those I got with my K3, but this K70 just blows it away. Great camera IMHO.

Very nice choice! I own the K-S2 which is somewhat similar to the K-70 (body style at least).
The K-70 came out after the K-S2 and I was very jealous to see the new features it had!!

Pixelshift, 4 more MP, better ergonomics (buttons/grip), accelerator chip, 14-bit RAW...

Very nice camera, that K-70 is!

I saw that Black Friday deal and figured there'd be quite a few folks here in the UK benefiting from it. What an absolute bargain for such a capable camera. Enjoy!!

Congrats! I've lost count of how many times I've said you get A LOT of bang for your buck with the K-70. I also have a K-1 II now but don't plan on letting my K-70 sit around collecting dust. Looking forward to seeing some of your images here on PF.

Congratulations on your new K-70! I got mine two years ago, and it literally has been so enjoyable that I am out shooting more than ever, which in my mind, is a pretty high compliment.

Have fun!

The K-70 is such a versatile camera. Standard jpegs are great and the pixel shift images are superb. I've had mine for about 3 months now and have stopped hankering after a K1.

As others have often commented, there's probably no other camera that offers the 'bang for buck' of the k-70, even at its usual price, and its many built-in features are well worth thorough exploration. It's a great compact DSLR which is such a pleasure to use, and its image output potential is great whether making use of the top quality JPEGs or the raw files.

I hear you, had a Pentax P30t (which I took some great pics of the Whitby abbey with), & the K70 is my first digital slr. Aside from Whitby, I was in Newcastle in 1990. Caught a bit of Tina Turner in Gateshead with the Geordie hooligans I was with. The K70 will make you want rather need more and better lenses.

I absolutely agree! Whether you are a beginner, some sort of professional, or somewhere in between, the K-70 (and a good WR kit lens) makes a combo that you can't touch anywhere else for that price. Favorite features include weather resistance, shake reduction in the body (great for those older lenses too!), pixel shift, wifi built in, and the one that made me pick between it and the KP, the fully articulated screen!

Handheld (and NOT laying on the pavement! Thanks articulated screen!), with an oldie-but-a-goodie, the M50 f1.7:

with the 18-135 WR, no PP except a crop.
