Pentax gear delayed delivery in Australia

Is anyone else frustrated waiting for a delivery to Australia..? I ordered a k-70 with 18-135mm on August 28th (through Australia's main importer, not going to mention their name)The date for stock arrival has changed 4 times.. I understand the climate at the moment is tough but this is ridiculous.
I am trying to stay loyal to the pentax brand but this is seriously testing me. Contemplating a full refund for the kit plus accessories ($4K-ish) and jumping ship.. why shouldn't I when other brands are readily available (walk in-walk out with full kit +accessories). Not impressed

Not sure of the conversion rate but 4K just sounds ridiculous for a k70 kit and accessories.

Four months also sounds like a long time for a camera that is not brand new or in high demand.

I'm sure you are upset and frustrated, but I'm having difficulty comprehending this. You spent approximately $4000 AUD on a K-70, 18-135 lens and accessories? It seems to me the cost should be well under half of that $4000.

We have a number of Australian members on the forum so perhaps they can chime in.

Also, this might be better posted elsewhere, as this subforum is specifically for the K-70 camera, not retailor issues.

Why blame the importer?
Thats a big order and would be annoying ..... but this year is a write -off for everyone in manufacturing..
Importers don't ( haven't for years ) hold stock ' in case ' ( have a large inventory )

When I bought my K-70 not a couple months ago, in Alberta, Canada, I had to wait like 3 weeks for the thing to arrive.
I could have bought a K-70 with the kit lens immediately, but I had no need to the lens and it was much more expensive together.
Buying just the body required a special order and it took forever...
Well worth the wait.

My special order Theta Z1, not too long ago, took forever too...

Cancel the order for the K-70 and lens and buy it from the US. B&H Photo has it in stock. Currently on sale at $796.99 USD ($1091.32 AUD at this point in time). Even with shipping, tax and duties it will probably be less then the $1540.00 AUD as currently listed on Pentax.AU. You won't have a warranty but at least you'll have the lens and camera plus the extras B&H is throwing in. From other posters, though, it seems CR Kennedy will honor the warranty as long as the gear was purchased from an Authorized Dealer.

PS: You can enter the raffle for the K-70. If you win you might get the body faster than the one you have on order. No lens though.

I'm surprised a current model takes months to arrive. But as you say it's not CRK but the supplier and there's been extraordinary disruption this year which makes stock control difficult. Hope you get it for Xmas. And because I'm commenting here I'm going to win one.

I feel your pain. I ordered an FA 43 through Ted's camera, was supposed to be end of October then it was updated to the end of November. Now I see on pentax au site it's due Dec 11th🤬

I understand the frustration. But you made a good choice of equipment and will not regret it. Maybe you would have got a Nikon Canon faster. But they’re not Pentax. This year has been such a pain for the dealings. Idk about custom charges there, but the B&H option sounds quite good.

CR Kennedy is usually very good to deal with. I suspect shipping from Japan or wherever may be the problem. When my K-1 had to go to Japan for repairs it took forever. Covid and all.
