I have a dream

I think, Pentax doesn't use their past potential well enough. They had really very beautiful cameras before.

I certainly wouldn't buy their Q -- expensive toy with questioned image quality (small sensor can not compete with the larger ones).

I wasn't really impressed by K-01, but I WOULD certainly buy their (not yet existing) incarnation of Pentax 110 Super:

-- It can use large enough sensor
-- It had some rather compact lenses. Short registration distance permits attachment of almost everything
-- It is small enough (and smaller than K-01) for putting it into your pocket
-- It is SLR with OPTICAL viewfinder. And it was 'system' -- with macro tubes, bellow ...

I propose send petition to Pentax on reviving such a camera and ask moderator to create one, if large number of people will share this my opinion.

Hmmm implication that 5x3x2inch @600g is too big makes me wonder what size hands you have and strength?
Personally the K-01 appears a tad tiny but I won't know until I receive mine and carry it up the mountain a few miles.

As both a video professional that uses HDSLR's (specifically the Canon 5D Mkii) for footage and a the proud owner of the K-1000, K-20, and P67ii, video functionality is very important. I'm waiting for the K5 to get better at video before I buy.

1) Full control over exposure during video record on K5.
2) Record video to h.264 codec on K5.
3) 1080p at 23.976 and 29.97 on K5.

I'd like to control multiple off-camera flashes from the camera.

I believe that K-5 is not capable of number 2 and 3. The PRIME II processor is not up for the challenge. So either K-01 or the K-5 successor will be your camera.

Why stop at 30 FPS.. 1080P 60 FPS, that's what I'd love.. unfortunately to get there for what I want, I'd have to throw Magic Lantern firmware in a 5D Mark II.. I'll live with 30FPS of a D800...

Dear Pentax

As someone that hates post processing, the Idea of digital filters is truly nice. And fun. It is cheap to implement, and good enough for many of us that aim to take picures of family and friends.

I'd love digital filters that aim to resemble the structure and grain of classic films like Tri-X. Or just a grainy film-filter like Oly has.

Why is that? Isn´t it a better option than the previous owner Hoya?

Mitä sinulla on Ricohia vastaan? Onhan se paljon parempi kuin edellinen omistaja Hoya?

Now there is this reincarnation, or as they call it, tribute to the old 110: the Optio i10. It is no dSLR but P&S.

On i10

If you dress camel as a horse, you still have camel ...

110 film format had 13x17 mm frame, but i10 -- only 1/2.3" CCD sensor (~5x7 mm) (do you see some difference?) And, it was SYSTEM camera, with REAL optical viewfinder, not mention many other goodies.

Why it is so difficult to put such sized sensor instead of film? And how beautiful could be such sized camera with such a sensor?

As I said, it was only shaped to remind of the old 110. It was never ment to be a SYSTEM.
Considering the question why they put big sensors in big cameras and small sensors in smaller packages, eeehm, seems to me that marketing has 'some' influence here, perhaps??
Technically they are most certainly able to put the electronic payload of e.g. a K-5 inside a 110 frame or even smaller. Only there's no room for a proper display and battery then
