Retrofitting night vision mode

I think it probably wouldn't take that much for new firmware options to offer night vision display on older models. I love the feature on my K-70 and wish my K-3 had it, too.

However, I wish on the K-70 the green power LED on the shutter release could also switch to red. Even that small amount of green wavelength can damage night vision.

Thanks!

FWIW, the K-1 did receive this feature through firmware.

Re the LED: maybe you could cover it with something like red cellophane tape or clear tape with clear red nail varnish? It should block most of the green light, you may end up seeing nothing at all though if you make the red too opaque. Or just cover it with opaque masking tape and live without the light?

Is it enough to be able to turn it off or to a lower intensity? Set-up menu tab #2 has that option (Other Indicator Lamps).

If there isn't a red LED on the power switch there is no way to change colors.

Thanks for the tip -- hadn't considered that menu.
