Firmware update to deactivate SDM on lenses with alternative screw-drive AF

Basically, the title says it:

To convert SDM failed lenses to screw-drive, a firmware update to do it in-camera would be nice. Thus, the user can deactivate SDM on lenses with alternative screw-drive AF without hacks or need to repair the SDM. The 60-250 would benefit since the screw-drive hacks dont seem to work.

At least, cameras back to K5 (II) should be considered (for my taste). K10D would also be nice since there are still so many out there.

Not that I expect this technically to be possible...

Pentax should disable SDM as a feature instead of just fixing the problem? This will not happen.
