I like the word "easy" being used by someone other than the firmware engineer.

That said, the ability to focus lock without toggling the AF/MF switch would be welcomed by this photographer. The setting of a range would be harder, at least for Pentax, than Chris might be aware.

(...strange that Sony dropped this feature...not so strange that it was not supported for other than their brand lenses...)

Yes, he said it a lot didn't he.

I also like people using the word 'foolproof', I only ever aimed for 'idiot resistant'.

That said, it shouldn't be overly difficult.

Let's wait for the new APS-C flagship this year and see, what kind of features the programmers did create

Its a Pentax function, dont try to retro engineer what the values mean.

Do we want extra buttons to control a focus limiter on the camera? Settings will not absolute and slight lens movements can have large impact. These limiters have to be used with care and should be adjustable in an instant. I sometimes lock my 70-200 and find myself not able to AF on a subject at different distance some time later. So keep the limiter on the lens.
The 100 macro on the other hand is missing an AF limiter badly - even a software limiter would help.
