ISO 3200 on the K1 isn't particularly noisy and really isn't noticably noisier than ISO 1600 which is all the one stop faster zoom is going to give him.

That's why I recommend 1.4 for low light. The one stop between ƒ2.8 and ƒ4 makes for much heavier glass. Very few of my images are taken between ƒ1.4 and ƒ4. I see the faster lenses better for focussing, but I still shoot ƒ5.6 for most images and ƒ8-ƒ16 for landscapes. My only ƒ1.4 keepers were shot as proof of concept images, but I don't for the most part gravitate towards that kind of image.

There is a sigma 24-135 2.8-??
It is an older screw AF.
It suits me as far as image quality on my K1 but again it will depend on your standards
