Look at the shoulers of the KP, not the Dial heights. It is noticeably smaller.

Shoulders are lower, grip is much smaller, body thickness is the same - overall it's more compact than K-5/K-3. It might not be small enough to you, but you can't argue with overall dimensions.

If you prefer put it with numbers, less than 5% in each dimension. You could say it is huge, I say it is irrelevant. That still single digit % difference in overall size.
