Because...my K-5 IIs is still going strong? The K-P still looks darned interesting from where I'm sitting although I'm puzzled by the price point selected and the substantial price gap between the K-70 and the K-P. €1200 or thereabouts is usually a slot that the top-line APS-C models fill and the K-P, capable though it is, doesn't seem to fit that bill.

Because I used up my next few years budget on the K-1 and a few lenses... not to mention waiting to see what K-3ii replacement looks like ;D

It doesn't have a top LCD not a decent grip a small battery and no real improvements over the K-70 except build quality (at almost twice the price). The new sensor may be nice, but the body is just not for me. The K3-II looks better to me. (Also there is going to be a real replacement for the K-3 II and I am really saving up for the K-1 which will be my K-5 replacement.

I won't buy KP because of poor autofocus specs, and my K-S2 is still good enough.
honestly, i was hoping for new autofocus system to break the image of pentax being system with poor autofocus compared to competition. yet same SAFOX as in K-3II

Because first of all, it's not yet time to replace my K3. But second, when I do, I need a proper APS-C flagship. An improved K3, with similar ergonomics, dual SD cards etc. And most importantly, better AF. The KP is not such a camera, and in my eyes does not at all warrant the steep price.

Because even though it looks darn sexy, has superb specs, some very innovative features, is compact, includes modular grips at no cost, has wifi, a tilting screen...

I still have a K-3 and K-1, and don't see the urge to upgrade now. But I sure hope a lot of people will be interested by this camera!

Because, after 10 years, my Samsung GX-1S (ist DS2 rebrand) is still going strong ... but I'd be oh so tempted if it was the same price as the K-3ii.

Why I wont buy the KP

- Buffer - 8 frames RAW & 7 for RAW+ (Watched that spec sheet again & again to make myself believe) - a body costing 450$ more than K-70 has a shallower buffer.
- battery life - Pentax has beaten itself at being bad at battery life - buy the grip to have more battery life without changing - beats to lighter body philosophy
- Bad pricing considering no GPS, older shutter mechanism, no hybrid AF, no LCD, more customization but less buttons so it adds up to somewhat the same thing.

- Wanted to see at-least the same AF as K-3 II and is due for a touch screen.

One positive is that this could well be the best Landscape camera till date, might dethrone K-70 as my favorite Landscape camera.

My requirement is a camera equally capable as a wildlife & Landscape, and at the opening price of KP it should have been that way.

This is my disappointment.
