I already posted this in the "Why I won't buy a K-3" thread. However, for the benefit of those considering the KP, here's why I won't be buying one...

- 'PRIME IV' image processing engine with image accelerator unit (so PRIME IV is slow and needs an accelerator unit?)
- 5-axis 'SR II' in-body image stabilisation (is a 6th axis really too much to expect?!)
- 27-point (25 cross-type) 'SAFOX 11' autofocus system (not interested until SAFOX 12 is released, and I want all 27 points to be cross-type!)
- Sensitivity: ISO 100-819,200 (how can I shoot in a forest, in the dead of night, with high shutter speeds and no flash, at only ISO 819,200?)
- Continuous drive: 7 fps; JPEG: up to 28 frames; RAW: up to 8 frames; RAW +: up to 7 frames (7fps - not much use when the 8th frame is the keeper!)
- Maximum shutter speed: 1/6,000s (mechanical shutter), 1/24,000s (electronic shutter) (and I'm supposed to stop motion with this, am I?)
- Dust-proof and drip-proof casing with 67 seals; cold resistance up to minus 10℃ (hardly a selling point - I've never had a camera that dripped)
- Pixel Shift (I want my pixels to stay still, thank you very much)
- Optical viewfinder with approx. 100% coverage and approx. 0,95x magnification (approximate? approximate?! No dice!)
- Full HD video, 4K interval video (and this helps my stills photography HOW, exactly?)
- Dust Removal II (so it's not actually "dust proof" after all... I knew it!)
- Motion bracket, depth-of-field bracketing function (yes, and I suppose it'll brush my teeth for me, too? Or have a cup of tea ready for me when I get out of bed?)
- Built-in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) (but no Bluetooth!)
- Compatible with 'O-GPS-1' GPS unit (old technology, and what if the satellite network fails, eh?)
- Storage media: SD / SDHC / SDXC cards (and I have to buy those myself, do I?)
- Battery: D-LI109 (puny, low power battery - good for ten photos and then I have to recharge it!)
- D-LI109 and D-LI90P available for battery grip D-BG7 (another new grip to buy, and the extra battery capacity lets me take 20 photos instead of 10? No thanks!)
- Dimensions: 131.5 x 101 x 76mm (virtually identical to the kaythree that none of us wanted!)
- Weight: 643g body only, 703g including battery and memory card (only because of the puny battery and single SD card slot!)
- Color: Black / Silver (make your mind up, hociR, which one is it? Indecisive, as always)
- Expected release date: February 23rd, 2017 (only if hociR irons out the bugs by then!)
- Lens Kit: none (oh great... how am I supposed to take photos without a lens? Duh...)
- MSRP: ¥137,700 - 8% tax included ("8% tax included"?? So they'll include the sales tax but can't stretch to a lens?)

And to top it all, there's that front control knob and lack of a top panel LCD... yuck.

Yessiree, I'll be sticking with my K-3 / K-3II... in fact, no... I'm getting rid of those and using only my GX-10 from now on. Everyone knows the CCD sensor is better...

Anyone who buys a KP is just *nuts*...

...because the KP includes 67 seals. My bathtub isn't big enough for all of them to swim.

My real answer: I spent my camera budget on a K-1 and 15-30.

I suspect that the K-3ii will be a better value for most people in the market for an APS-C body.

Lack of money

Truth is, of course, that it is because they aren't doing those nice colours like they did on the KS1. Black and silver are so 60's

I probably won't get one because I have a k-1 and K3 and those are enough for me.

That said, I am a little more interested in the K3 replacement than in this camera. Buffer is a little on the weak side and it doesn't really offer much more than the K3, although we'll need to wait to see actual high iso image quality and dynamic range at low iso. That last thing is the number one thing that K-1 has over the K3 in my book.

Dials with cryptic markings. Dials with no markings. Dials that control what other dials do.

Anyhow, no APS-C flappy mirror camera is going to lure me away from my Sony A7. The world has moved on.

No cheap feeling 24 MP camera that barely out-resolves a K-3 is going to lure me away from my K-1. The world has moved on.

Why will I not buy the KP?

It's not the droid that I'm looking for.

Errr..... I mean, it's not the camera that I'm looking for.

*Tongue in cheek
Whiner here !
So ... this is supposed to become a Satire Thread too ?
((Ignore list: allowed)).

For me:
- no significant proof that the (high) ISO performance/noise will beat that of the K5; we shall see. ... EDIT: according to recent tests ... yes it does beat the K5 for high ISO "handling".
- is the AF improved over that of the K3/K3II ? we shall also see.
- battery longevity ... seems a step backward.
- no top LCD ... I use that a LOT on my K5 and K3.
