It does! They are probably jealous of this new svelte genius amongst them, though.

I drove to the shop today to have a look at the KP and 'feel' it. I must say I liked it a lot. I just put all the rest of my Nikon gear for sale and I'm going to order a black one.

Here in Belgium and the Netherlands the price is 1249 euro with Pentax 35/2.4 included and one shop throws on top of this a warranty of 5 years instead of the normal 2 years. I think that's a good deal! Also the three grips are included in the box!

I have this camera for 2 weeks already and I have to say that this camera is nice, fun to use and a great performer.

Loving this camera and my feeing is totally different to the review from the camera store. It feels robust, well built and fit great in my hands with the middle Grip. I'm using it mainly with the limited 70f2.4.

This is great feedback, and reinforces my plan to get one! Maybe this month. Like kape, I already have some Limited primes, both FA and DA. The KP is proving to be both optimum for the Limited primes, and versatile for other lenses. I'll opt for the silver. @ Dannyv- yes, that does sound like a good deal! Be sure to try out the exclusive Pentax Hyper System. Owners manuals no longer make this feature clear. In Program mode you can select a different shutter speed, or aperture on the fly without even having to take your eye from the VF just by selecting what you want with the thumb or finger dial, and it will stay thus shifted into Av or Tv mode (you can go back and forth!) as long as light allows metering, until you hit the green button to return to full P mode, or turn off the camera.

In Manual mode, you can use the green button to get instant center-meter exposure according to program line instead of the regular twirling of Av and Tv dials. Then if you wish a different aperture or shutter speed, select form there, but if you first hit the AE-L button to lock exposure, as you select a different aperture or shutter speed, the other will follow along, preserving your exposure value! Very quick. It is also great for quickly spot metering around a scene in M mode using the green button!

I received my (very lightly used) silver KP a few days ago as a companion for my K-1. I won't say yet whether I am enthusiastic or merely very satisfied until I have fully tested it - but - it is surely small and surely solid - and faster than K-1. I need to learn all this new tech.

I will say my first impression was the box sure is heavy. The camera is without question solid and robust. Don't listen to the nay-sayers. Compared to K-1 it is also svelte and fast - having both is like having in your garage a fine full-sized touring sedan and a tight, sporty coupe.

I have the SMC DA15, 21, 35 and 40 Limiteds in black and the HD DA70 in silver. It will be interesting to see beauty shots with green rings rather than red .

Coming from K-3 (sold) through K-1, I'm pretty impressed.

No beauty shot, cell shot taken to text to my son when I first got mine.
I have no interest in a FF, this camera is my dream come true for its looks and performance.
