Saturday 23 Aug 2020 the cruise ship WORLD DREAMS is moored at the Holland America quay in Rotterdam

Earlier this year, the ship of the Asian cruise company Dream Cruises stayed in the port of Rotterdam for 4 months, for maintenance in the dry dock at Damen Verolme in the Botlekhaven and subsequently in the Waalhaven at Uniport for further work.
The arrival at the cruise terminal has to do with a "technical" visit. There will be bunkered, water refreshed and other things that can only be done at the quay.

Since the end of July, it was, like the Nieuw Statendam, Zaandam, Emerald Princess and Seabourn Ovation, near the anchorage in Scheveningen in anticipation of better times.

As a ship (especially cruise and ferries) enthusiast I can only thank you for the nice pictures and very interesting explanations behind them! Not a nice year for cruising industry at all , let's hope next year things will recover.

Here in Livorno we also have two Regent ships (Seven Seas Voyager & Navigator) moored and waiting for better times...

From my new KP, this is just the kind of image my K5 struggled with, a higher iso on a dull day in an almost monochrome landscape would produce a lot of sensor noise. It still exists here in the KP image but at manageable levels and the extra sharpness and detail from the sensor means less or no balancing of sharpness and noise reduction. There would be even less noise if I'd got the exposure right, very impressed with the KP.

And the photo is people walking out to Hibre Island off the Wirral coast

Saturn, Jupiter, Milky Way and Antares by k kwb, on Flickr

From left to right you can see bright Saturn, super bright Jupiter, pink-ish blob of Lagoon Nebula in darker part of the Milky Way, and orange-red-ish Antares, all at around the mid altitude in the frame. You can also find many other nebulae and clusters among other things.

Look at that blinding city light to the left, no wonder I cannot take reasonable Milky Way picture in my back yard.

Beautiful! I actually think the city lights add something to the overall image.

I took a similar shot just five days before you 8) (but rotated):

F*300/4.5 ... Red-capped Robyn in Flinders Ranges... KP and F*300 works well to have 450mm and small.

Enjoy the beautiful Dutch weather from an enclosed space. Lev protects you from the outside elements and keeps you dry.
