I bought the KP mostly for a trip last summer - my plan was to use it with the DA300 and DA1.4 TC. It was perfect for that - I was much happier than if I had bought a DFA 150-450 and a second K1.

I've continued to use the combination, most recently at an urban campground, to capture my next site neighbor, Frankie.

The lighting was very harsh - very early afternoon in the desert. As you can see from the second one, Frankie is a working girl, her handler has a contract with a nearby landfill to help control wild birds there. I spent a very pleasant afternoon talking to him.

What in the world is that thing Bruce? I know you guys have some strange critters down there but that one is more than one standard deviation past the strange.

Bahaha, scary huh, what's scarier is I was using the HD DA 35 Macro, which meant I had to get REAL close for those shots
Even a decade later of living here and I'm still finding more weird creatures out here, the adventure never stops! These are called 'Australian Spitfires', they apparently become wasps that live only 5-7 days. The grubs seen here live in communities in the gum trees, a good amount bunched together as a defence mechanism from birds. Read more here;
