Lion at dusk. It would have been difficult with my K5 ( ISO 1100 and cropped ) and the Live view manual focus worked well with the lens rested on a beanbag. AF would probably have focused on one of the branches. I did miss focus on the eye, but the fly is quite sharp. That DA* 300mm F4 is a star
In this case, it seems the focus point on the nose works quite well! It appears to give the lion's face a good sense of 3 dimensionality instead of the telephoto compression one would expect, and also lends the whole scene the same, with the bushes and his peeking through them. Great shot!

Congrats on getting your new beautiful silver KP! I remember the day I got mine. No doubt you'll find lots to enjoy. Its JPEG engine is outstandingly capable for images right out of the camera, if you are interested in that. Just set "Fine Sharpening" in the Custom Image menus, especially in the most often-used "Bright" category. Access via the info button. In that category, the sharpening level is already up an extra notch by default, just add the "Fine" part using your thumb dial. Then just hit the ok button and shut off the camera, which will exit the screen (maybe the fastest way).
