It’s always interesting when some photo subject presents itself to me when the last thing I’m thinking about is photography. I was doing a little maintenance outside when I happened to notice this tiny fellow lying on my water hose. Not the best photo as far as lighting, but I thought it was cool how much the lizard’s texture matched with the texture on the hose.

I really have little patience for any type of wildlife photography but did manage to change position without scaring it away. But he wouldn’t look at me.

I took a couple of more shots trying to get his face, but he decided he had had enough of that big lens being stuck in his face and left.

All photos taken with the DFA 70-210 f4 lens.

In many ways this is my favourite of the astrophotos I’ve taken: Jupiter and Saturn “beneath” the Milky Way.

Jupiter and Saturn under the Milky Way by -Occasionally Focused-

I used my Sigma EX DC 30mm f/1.4 with O-GPS1 on my KP

I got a new toy today.

An old toy (which took the photo above) taken with the new toy.

The new lens arrived between thunderstorms so I didn’t get much of a chance to play with it.

Another thistle.

I don’t think I’m going to do any astrophotography tonight.

Ring-billed Gulls in Flight

I would appreciate comments on the number/percent of keepers those of you shooting with the DFA 150-450 on a KP achieve on average.

My images here are from a shoot at local lake yesterday. My goal was to get as many sharp images of these birds on the wing as I could with my FA*400. These are the last three shots from a little over 200 total. My percentage of keepers was about 25%. This was my first practice session. All significantly cropped.
