I would appreciate comments on the number/percent of keepers those of you shooting with the DFA 150-450 on a KP achieve on average.

My images here are from a shoot at local lake yesterday. My goal was to get as many sharp images of these birds on the wing as I could with my FA*400. These are the last three shots from a little over 200 total. My percentage of keepers was about 25%. This was my first practice session. All significantly cropped.
I don’t shoot with that lens but would think that a 25% success rate for a subject as notoriously tricky as birds in flight is nothing short of phenomenal!

Thanks for your reply. I’m wondering how much a handicap a screw drive & no focus limiter are for birds in flight. Otherwise, I’m very happy with my first serious effort.

Since you are really asking about lenses rather than about the body, I think you will get more answers to this question if you post it in the 300+ thread: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/122-lens-clubs/55946-300mm-plus-lens-clu...ng-lenses.html. FWIW, from my experience I would agree with Tim that 25% is a very good hit rate for BIF.

My wife's hobby is woodturning and I like taking pictures of her work. Here is one of the baby rattles she made, although one person purchased one to use as a cat toy.

Here is one I took with my FA 50mm F2.8* macro at F/4, to see what the bokeh looked liked. Just goofing around.

Church tower at twilight

Nothing special, yet I never cease to be shocked with the amazing performance and good colors of this little camera at such Hi ISO. I'm thinking on getting a silver backup.
