I've got my eye on you

I grabbed this image yesterday morning at the Minnesota River. After I brought it up in PaintShop Pro, it was screaming out for B&W, so I gave it the Silver Efex treatment, and then an additional pink toning in Topaz adjust, which helped to highlight the duck's eye. Shot with the KP and DA* 300mm f4.0 at f4.5. The eye could have been in sharper focus, (should have stopped down a bit) but I still like how this turned out. Cross-posted to the 300mm Plus Lens Club thread.

Yikes! We hear so much about this sort of thing happening in Brazil, I don't think of it being done in North America.

It was a warm night, I typically find it hard to get quality sleep during the summer months. After hearing the rumblings of distant thunder at 2 AM I threw on some clothes, selected a pair of tripods, packed my K-1 and KP into a small bag and walked out to see if I could get a good image of one of the most dangerous and unpredictable subjects in photography.

This is what I got on the Pentax KP

Pentax KP- ISO 200 1'30s f/8 Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 @ 16mm [slight crop] hand blended composite image.

Fairly new to photography, And specifically Pentax, Still getting used to the camera, But I've got a few shots I'm happy with so far.

First shot was taken with the DA20-40 out of a moving truck (Don't worry, I was the passenger.)
Second shot was taken with the Pentax M 80-200mm F4.5

Now that's a picture. Great shot! Me personally there's no way I'm getting out of bed.

Interesting flora. Is that a cactus?

Rather eerie, but this is a scene oft repeated in cities across the globe this year. Anyway, nice capture.
