Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 c vignetting?

Hi all,
For wide shots my da 15mm f4 limited is my go to lens and I'm more than happy in terms of colors, flare resistance, fov, sharpness (stopped down). The nice little lens complements my da70 and 300mm (and Takumar 55mm f1.8). However for a recent trip with my family I decided to bring the Sigma 17-70mm contemporary zoom instead of the 15&70 for flexibility/convenience (along with the 300 ;-)
Using the zoom was fine not to swap lenses and in terms of sharpness and colors, however at 17mm I was a bit surprised/underwhelmed to get so much vignetting. I shoot w hood in raw and i seems worse using a polarising filter. Some of it (not all) can be fixed in Lr (aswell as distortion/field curvature). Flare resistance was shocking. Any thoughts? Am I spoiled by the limited 15mm (and 70) prime(s) and are my expectations of the zoom unrealistic? I'm using a K3 btw. Kind regards,

When I used the lens I wasn't disappointed at all by vignetting, but without good correction profiles it's possible that it might be more visible in the final product.

That said, comparing a consumer 17-70mm zoom with a 15mm prime is certainly a bit's hard to beat the Limited when it comes to wide-angle IQ on APS-C.

Many thanks Adam. Yes the comparison is probably unfair. My Lightroom (will lookup version later) doesn't 'automatically' recognises the sigma contemporary. I use the normal 17-70 (non c) lens profile. Would that make a difference? Or shooting in JPEG? Thanks.

Btw sorry if i accidently posted my question in the KP thread :-/
