$25 lens on a $1K+ camera

I really like the looks of my black lenses on my silver KP, but felt the need to have at least one silver, but on the cheap.
Pretty good reviews on PF for the FA 35-80 led me in that direction, $25 USD total got me one on eBay.
I have a F 35-70 so I knew what to expect FL wise, and as much as I like that little guy, it gets little use since I got the DA 18-135.
As a JPEG only shooter, I'm happy with the IQ of the 35-80 and think it looks pretty decent on the KP.

A few of my first SOOC pics:

I especially like the one of the jar. I recently got the F 35-70 to pair with the 20-40 in case I need a little more reach while hiking. I shot it on my PZ-1p and the wide end has terrible corners (bad enough I actually noticed, as I'm not one to pay much attention to that), but not an issue for my KP! It weighs nothing and didn't cost much, so a good choice for hiking. You're making me curious about this lens, too, now. It does look quite attractive in the silver.

A very under-rated, but good lens. It got a good review in Popular Photography testing, and they did do very thorough tests then. Very lightweight. There was also an earlier version, same glass, in black finish, that had a metal lens mount (the one tested by Pop Photo). I still have both, as well as a used F 35-70mm. Pack rat, I am. Other than the plastic lens mount, the silver version, I found, is not a vari-focal zoom, but the earlier black version was! That is, if you zoom to its longest FL and focus, then bring in the zoom, you will find it still in focus with little or no need to keep refocussing.

Not a bad idea to take one of these light zooms along with the DA 20-40mm Limited! For highest quality, the company it keeps is usually the DA 15mm and FA 77mm, but a zoom is a zoom, for added FL range without much added weight! The DA 15mm is so small it easily fits into the outer accessory zippered pocket of my camera belt holster, with a patch of bubble wrap against the outer fabric wall.

Pretty nice-looking shots! I, too have the F35-70, but also picked up a cheap F35-80, and am quite happy with it. Nice, lightweight little zoom for walks in the woods.
