After viewing your combination on the Acquisition thread I fell victim to the B&H special price and ordered the 20~40 in silver for my KP.

It will be here Friday; along comes a posting thread . . . .
Congrats. Looking forward to your images.

The zoom ring on my NIB 20-40 is fairly tight, such that I cannot easily zoom with fingers under the lens. It feels over-damped. Is this normal or should I return the lens to B&H (fwiw I bought it on deal price - ATM they are out of stock of silver).

Mine is firm, but smooth. It doesn't cause any difficulty used with thumb and forefinger under the lens...

I suppose I’ll keep it in the hope it loosens up a bit. I’m probably accustomed to the 28~105.

Yeah, so long as it's smooth in rotation, I don't suspect you have a problem. Just needs use... lots of use

Sounds about right.
The zoom is pretty stiff on my lens. It definitely will not get shifted unintentionally.

A cropped and resized pixel-shift of my macro setup. This 24MP sensor rocks!
edit: and so does the lens!

I corrected that in edit. I blame it on PF servers being slow... oh crap...
