I have a couple of weeks until marching band season really ramps up and I really am having a hard time justifying, 1.) not upgrading my K20 to the KP (along with a 55-300mm lens); and 2.) spending money! LOL. The more I look at old pics the more I desire to upgrade but I am saving toward a new car in a few months and I'm so close. Ugh!!! I only have two more years until my kiddo graduates so I could totally justify the time with a new camera and lens. Decisions!
You just reminded, I was in our schools marching band in grade 9. You forget things like that. After grade 9 I was playing football. I have no pictures of me in my band uniform. Is that parental neglect?

I was keeping my K20D , it was going to be my sentimental mantel piece camera. After a few weeks with my K-3 I decided I was going out to the blind with it for old times sake. The magic immediately disappeared. I sold it. Your life is going to get a lot easier if you pick up a K-P and 55-300.

Agreed 1+.....why didn't you post this before I spent nearly $5000 in the last couple years figuring it out all on my own ?

Given my current situation I'm probably just going to wait a bit longer to get a good used one at the right price, unless there is some insane sale on one for black friday.

I wouldn't hold my Breath on that one.....Black Friday without a K-3II successor will be pretty dry deal wise...

I've decided I have last gamble left in me {I turn 71 next month}. I will wait for Black Friday 2019.
Maybe I will get a deal I could have had a year earlier.
Maybe they will have something better.
Maybe they will have nothing for me.

edit: For anyone not reading elsewhere: I decided not to gamble. My KP should arrive on Tuesday

Im just curious....what price on a new or slightly used demo KP is considered a great deal at the moment ?

In France demo units are sold between 500 and 600 euros.

I usually get an idea of market value by searching Ebay or other online used markets for sold listings. Not perfect, but a good starting point.

KP now $696 US at B&H, Adorama, Amazon..

I'd say I'm bummed that I didn't wait, but frankly i'm not. I got mine for $896 at the beginning of October and nearly have 10k shots on it already. I'm glad I got it when I did.

If you're on the fence, get it.
