Has anyone sourced the AC adapter for the KP or found a suitable substitute? According to the manual, it's K-AC167, but a lot of google searching yielded no results. Thanks.

I bought a D-LI109 DC adapter for my K-70 on eBay, I use it with a 2 cell LiPo 8000mAh battery when I'm out all night doing Astrophotography. The adapter can be bought with a power supply as well: K-AC128 D-DC128 AC power adapter charger for Pentax K-50 K50 K-30 K-R K-S1 K-S2 | eBay

Thanks, though it looks like I'd have to leave the battery door open, which is not possible with the camera on a tripod.

Thank you. Good to know it'll substitute. Weird that Ricoh lists a specific product for the KP when they already had a product that works. That probably explains why the K-AC167 is not available.

Is it possible to charge the embedded battery when in the camera with such an adapter?
I was thinking to get a second one but would like to charge both without having to buy another socket and realted plug...

I do not think you can charge the battery with the AC adapter. At least that is what the manual says.

And, fwiw, the Amazon reviews confirm that in practice.

It's under one of the rubber covers, so not too noticeable in normal use
