Well the 16-85 seems to be about the same length as my older 55-300 HD, though slightly larger diameter. Pretty sure it would fit in the bag, and I could probably handle the extra 1/2lb or so.

Beautiful car by the way!

These have served me well, and are all I really need. HD 20-40 Ltd my perfect all around lens. The HD 21mm Ltd for stealth and when size matters, and the 100mm Macro WR when I need a wee bit more reach. All wonderful lenses, and perfect for the KP.

Thanks Vmax: needless to say my son and daughter-in-law are pretty proud of their new automobile. They changed down from 2-car family to a one car family to make the change, and reduce their petrol bill. The Merc is turbo-charged, and really pushes you back into your seat when the turbo charge kicks in. And the dashboard - well!!! And of course, auto self-parking, with the whole process showing on the in-dash LCD!!!!

But to get back on topic, I have only recently been taking out the 16-85 more frequently, and it really is a great lens.

I only recently got the silver bodied Kp, so it is sporting my only silver bodied limited, an HD DA 40mm. It's a pretty cool looking combo but surprisingly heavy.

I generally use the FA43 but I also love to use old M42 lenses as well. I have pretty good luck using the KP for manual focus.
Do you use manual mode and the green button or AV when using M42 lenses? I switched from a K5lls to a KP and miss the optical preview button to get an exposure reading. Seems I can't do that with the KP.

Depth of Field Preview is apparently an assignable function of the Fx3 button. I say this based on a quick internet search; I do not own a KP and don't know what it's like to assign this function and if it allows for exposure "needle reading".

Like with my K10D, my DA* 16-50 sees the most action. My 50-300 PLM spends a good amount of time on my KP too.

the limiteds rock

Over the years I've come to rely a lot on my Limiteds. It's really great because in a small belt pouch I can fit two, and the third on-camera. So for very little extra bulk I can have 3 fabulous lenses with me at all times.

My normal kit is the
70mm on camera
40mm +
21mm in the bag.

I have the beloved 15 as well, but sadly, I dropped it once, and now the right 1/3 of the photo is out of focus enough for me to notice, so I have to replace at some point. (I loved it and it had served me so well).

I use the Tamron 70-200 for sports for when I freelance for the newspaper or want the reach.
I have the 55mm f/1.4 for portraits, and creative stuff when I feel like that.
I use a Rokinon 10mm for ultra-wide scenes, and sometimes star trails and night scenes. But I hate the star points it gives (vs. the 15, which, as we all know here are legendary. Okay so I have to replace my 15 soon)

OH and I've got a Sigma 70mm macro for when I want to do Macro easy.

As previously posted, and shown in my signature, I have a bunch of legacy film era Pentax M lenses, all primes. And while I had the K50, I did try using a few of them.

But since selling the K50 after buying the KP in June this year, I have not tried any of them on my Pentax M primes - I just have so much difficulty with getting the focus right, esp on the two longer 135mm and the 200mm F4. It was less of a problem with the faster 85mm perhaps.

But basically I let the autofocus do all the work, and both the speed and the accuracy of the autofocus on the 55-300mm PLM are fantastic. And the 16-85mm zoom gets me as wide as I normally want. And the 100mm 2.8 WR macro tops it all off nicely for me, for the main subject groups I shoot (birds, bugs and insect Macros, Flowers).

The only likely additional lens might be the 1.4x teleconverter, mainly to pair with the 55-300mm PLM - although it might be interesting to try pairing it with the 100mm macro.

I prefer using my kp with limited lenses and zooms on my K3. The grip is the issue with the bigger stuff and the k3 is just more comfortable at the moment

I need to work on this. Next month I am doing a single in with my Zeiss tessar and I plan to use the KP and get my head round how it works with manual glass. I am thinking of using one of the custom modes, probably manual and green button. My FX3 is currently set to exposure lock and front dial to exposure comp. Maybe if I set the green button in Av to P line then save it as a custom mode ..... Interesting ..... I need to read the manual

Mainly the limited stay with camera for college and walkabouts. The 40mm ltd is great for street photography, and the 70mm ltd I just purchased and getting to grips with (massive confusion circle, what do I do now?). I have been playing around with my 75-150mm M zoom and got some great results. It's on the camera now instead of the 55-300 which I dropped and broke. The 75mm-150mm will stay until I can find a replacement. The lens baby 45mm Sol come out from time to time, depending on my mood, which, lately has been mostly sharp in the centre and a little blurry around the edges.
