My wife and I spent the past three day weekend, U.S. Memorial Day long weekend, in Canada, at Point Pelee NP. We had 1-1/2 lovely sunny days and a lousy rainish day there. The camera + lens combination did focus on every subject i was able to get into the viewfinder ..... sometimes it felt a tad sluggish, but I'm not sure if that was 'for real' or just my impatience at getting a photo of a bird I rarely see {sometimes the "little yellow birds" land for just a second or two}.
added: I've added a 100% crop of the first photo.
I took all photos using TAv mode; my recollection is that this was a shady glade.
You can see from EXIF that shutter-speed=1/1000, aperture=f/9.5. ISO=4500
