I bought one yesterday (Silver) for $870ish Aus dolars...... gets delivered today.... so I need to spend the day in the front yard making out I'm gardening so I can intercept the delivery person..... as I didn't follow the approve purchasing guidelines.

Technically.... $870 aussie is $589US..... but somehow still feels like $870 down here.... must be something to do with equivalence....

I am glad some pentaxians took advantage of this deal and will highly praise (if needed) the many qualities of this KP!
The more I think about it, the more I would like Pentax to launch a KP ii...
I think the KP came to market a bit early..... it should have followed the K1.... or maybe the K1 should have come a bit earlier!

I just found my order confirmation from Ricoh in my Spam folder ! It says my order is being processed for shipping , and that the normal processing time is 3-5 business days for backordered items. Im not worried now.

I'm so close to biting the bullet on the silver version - for 880 bucks it's just too good to pass up. But I too won't have followed the approved purchasing guidelines so I will have to try and intercept the Startrack driver.

Good luck.... mine arrived.... just managed a controlled delivery. FWIW.... I will be getting a larger grip.... comes with the small one.... I'm sure 3 people in Australia must have a suitably sized hand for the small grip.... to go medium or large is the question..... the battery grip comes with a large grip included.... not sure if I'll get one later on.... so may just go medium grop for now.

.

I may have a defence......the CFO is planning a visit to a DFO sports outlet which has taken delivery of 250 pallets of golf gear!! I did comment that as long as she didn't buy the whole 250 pallets then a visit was quite reasonable

So I could be off the hook........maybe

Nice, do the silver bodies and silver lenses look good together in real life?

Hard for me to say.... as I am fond of them in silver if the camera is not to be knocked around to much..... black is a better finish for a hard knocks camera. The reason I say it is hard for me to know..... is that I do think the silver camera looks more special.... and silver lenses look great on them..... but I think I am influenced by growing up with my fathers silver minolta as a kid.... so I am a bit one sided.

I have black and silver lens hoods .... so I can add a silver hood to a black lens etc to tone in with a silver camera etc.

They look great. Let see- I have the DA HD 20-40mm, DA HD 15mm, DA HD 70mm, LTDs in addition to long-timers FA 77mm, FA 43mm, LTDs and FA* 300mm f/4.5 all in silver, which look fabulous on my silver KP bodies. ( I have two)

Congrats for those getting deals on new KP bodies!

I have a silver FA77 and a silver KP but never paired them together except once as I needed the KP for my DA16-50 and DA50-135. Just need the ISO capability of the KP to keep the DA16-50 at f5.6 most of the time. Now I'm wondering if I actually am doing it wrong.
