I don't know - I like Kai's videos, and it's nice that he actually is looking at and sharing Pentax.

The exposure is nice but yeah... I'm not sure what Kai is doing with his channel at the moment, beyond making infrequent videos in which he mumbles a bunch.

This video from Matthias Burling is older but is a much better advertisement for the KP:

I gather he likes the Pentax APS-C system.

He’s not part of the culture that normally inhabits these pages, but we do occasionally acknowledge that the brand needs to sell itself to a younger demographic, don’t we? I have 16-year-old grandchildren who are more likely to find Kai’s style relatable than, say, Tony Northrup’s, so I won’t criticise him.

Terrible video lol very Kai Wong but with less substance than usual. It’s nice to know he (possibly) has Pentax in his collection, and not just film. He also clearly likes Pentax glass. I am not totally convinced he likes the KP though he should have gone for the silver one it’s gorgeous

Ive always liked these two guys. Nothing to take too serious. I find them amusing and somewhat funny at a wholesome photography entertainment level.

Perfectly valid point, at least the first part of it. However, even judging from Kai's own precedent, his attempt at some light-hearted Pentax appreciation is, well, pretty lame. When I have to pick between Kai's eternal-adolescent humour and Tony's wannabe geekery, "used-car" salesmanship, and unbridled narcissism, I might even prefer Kai's approach, although both tend to be a waste of time IMO.

All a matter of taste, I agree. Without wishing to side-track the discussion, some people love Ellen de Generes, although I find her lame, but there’s no doubt she’s bankable goods. Sometimes we just have to go with what works, even if it’s not to our taste – not that I’m certain Kai has wide appeal to a younger audience, either.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess .... which is my own way of saying: I LOVED this video.
Kai has a sense of humor.
He's quirky.
And definitely not your serious average full-of-geeky-statistics or serious prognostications camera reviewer.
What comes across to me in this is someone who appreciates Pentax glass - Pentax viewfinders - and the way the camera handles in general in the real world - and is telling us all of that in a quirky, human, personal way.

I thought - and think - this is one damn cool (and quirky) video.

I think he really likes Pentax, and watching to the end, where he shows off his collection, I think that as snarky as he can be, he really wants the brand to succeed. Just my .02 as a new KP owner
