See page 85 of the KP user manual. You'll need a SlimPort to HDMI adaptor like the Analogix SP6001. That is the adaptor I purchased.

According the KP manual page 85, a SlimPort to HDMI adapter is required.

The reason I read them is my dad. He called them the corrections... With predictable results.

That adapter is $90 on Walmart.com. AMAZON is out of them.

I ordered this thing:

amazon.com: 2-in-1 USB Type C/Micro USB to HDMI Cable, Weton MHL to HDMI Adapter 1080P HD HDTV Mirroring & Charging Cable, Digital AV Video Adapter for Android Smartphone to TV Projector Monitor 6.6ft: Electronics?tag=pentaxforums-20&

Which may or may not do the trick. I can always send it back. We'll see.

You are permitted to use the electronic manual that can be downloaded, I'm pretty sure that's sate law in Oregon.

I couldn't find the recommended item at anything like a "sensible" price, even then availability was limited, so I found a generic one on eBay for 5 … works fine
The point to remember is the instruction to NOT apply power through the adaptor, which is a capability of the cheap items.

Good advice. I only want to get an external monitor working so I should be good, if it works.

I didn't see any under $10 USD adapters so I bought the cord I mentioned at $20 US. As long as it works, I'm OK with that. I did see a funky looking thing at Walmart last night for $12 US, but I'll wait and see what AMAZONED sends me first. Thanks!

$90 for the Analogix SP6001 is a rather insane price. It was nowhere near that price 3 years ago. I hope your alternate item works well.

A quick comment on MHL adapters for anybody looking for a suitable adapter to use with the KP.

On page 85, the KP manual cautions that MHL to HDMI adapters will not work.

I tested my generic MHL adapter (HDMI to USB-C with USB-C to mini-USB adapter), and it did not work, so absence of MHL support is an important point to keep in mind when searching for compatible adapters.
Unfortunately, the majority of the adapters marketed today claim they are "SlimPort to HDMI with MHL support" adapters, so they will not work with the KP. I was unable to find a generic SlimPort adapter without MHL support and eventually purchased the Analogix SP4001 adapter, which works without any issues.
