Sunset Tonite

With these digital cameras, always a good idea to carry a spare sd card in your car I learned tonite

Had to race home to get the one I forgot and then race back to catch the sunset

My only regret is not having a star filter with me.

So glad I raced back

Just in time too.

You know it's going to be good when there's a little bit of a gap on the horizon for the sun to lick the undersides of the cloud cover!

Bad weather makes good pictures!
Depending on the lens, stopping down to f11 or so produces great starburst without a filter, one of the reasons I cherish my Da 21mm.
Yes, alwys keep a spare card with your camera.

I carry a card case with three of them. Just in case ( ;P ).
The set of the sun is wonderful. You surely did time it well.

Great sunsets!
But I'm curious as to why you had no card- spare or otherwise? Did you fill it up, did it fail, lose it ? Or just forget there was no card in the camera ?

One advantage to being as lousy a photographer as I am, is that you can always make more space on a card by just deleting some of the bad shots!

Good photos and +1 for spare SD cards. Happened to me dozens of times, good to have filled any empty little pockets with additional cards in case...

You know what - I grabbed the camera so fast when I saw the sunset forming I forgot that I forgot to replace it in the camera. That wont happen again! Thanks

Ill remember that - stopping down to F 11 or so I wondered how I got the starburst effect on several others too. Yup always carry a spare card I got it. Thanks
