While traversing around Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay one night, I made my way onto a radar site with a clearing. Climbing up onto a roof of one of the buildings, I was able to get this great view. The newly constructed Bay Bridge is illuminated and teeming with life, while the old bridge sits quietly in the dark. After opening in 1936, it has seen countless earthquakes as well as a plane collision in 1968! This photo captures the changing of the guard. Without a doubt, my best photo of 2013.
