If I had a do-over today I might have gone with thee premium kit for not all that much more. I wouldn't ever have used the grip in all likelihood, but I'd have the satisfaction of knowing I could. Common-sense of course said don't bother with it.

I started a thread basically stating this very issue with price point. I love my cameras the fit and feel etc and I’m set up that I probably will never need to upgrade but human nature is always chasing the latest and greatest. So time will tell. The only switch I’m contemplating is maybe trying medium format.

I find it interesting that they aren't saying "pre-order" like they are with the HD FA Limited lenses. I wonder if that means K-3 iii's are going to start shipping this week in places other than Japan. Still no estimated in-stock date at Adorama or B&H. B&H is, however, no longer seeming to take pre-orders for the premium kits (in either color). If I hadn't had to convert a prepaid Visa into an Adorama gift card in order to apply multiple payment methods, I might be willing to take a chance on cancelling with Adorama and ordering direct from Ricoh Imaging USA.

Looks like they have a K3-3 with the 20-40 or a K3-3 with the 55-300 listed for pre-order now. $2443.90 each.
