I've said this before and I'll say it again- the K-3 is quite fairly priced for what you get. It's probably better than the D500, which cost the same at launch. Can't afford it? Get a brand new KP for 1/3 the price, with plenty of budget to spare for lenses.

D500 is 4 years old, you are saying possible better and thinking what Pentax/Ricoh charges is somehow okay even though D500 has better specifications.
They can charge whatever they want, but for the money it's not worth it.

I was trying to figure out where he got $1200. Then I realized it was the Canon M6 Mk II that Canon put in a DSLR body and called it the 90D...then I LOL'd.

Eh, I wouldn't go so far as to say the D500 has "better specifications".

If you compare the two cameras, the D500 excels in some respects, the K-3 III excels in others.

And if ultimate image quality is important, the K-3 III wins, easily.
