HD DA 55-300 PLM. Because... AF speed. Will also test the video AF.C. Then mount my Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 and see how that is, then some screw drive lenses (DA 18-55 WR, DA L 55-200 WR and DA 50 1.8) to see if there's an improvement with AF for those as well.

I've resisted the 1.4.... if you do well with it on the K3III then I may have to get one.

Definitely the DFA 28-105 mm f/3.5-5.6 HD and DFA* 70-200 mm f/2.8 HD. Rarely have I been so tempted to acquire a new body ...

An interesting question that I hadn't considered. I don't have a huge collection of Pentax lenses and none of the newer (faster) ones. I take a lot of shots with my DA* 50-135 and that's where I hope to see the most improvement in AF (knowing the SDM will be the limiting factor) but I will likely put my FA77 on first. I just really enjoy using that lens and the simplicity of a prime is one way to pay respect to a new camera. The bigger question for me is what to take a picture of.

Imagine you have your new K-3 III in your hands, battery charged, 2 new, formatted cards in the slots, all ready to go for your very first shots. Which lens have you attached to the camera? Why that one? And what subjects are you hoping to photograph?
I'd like to hear what others are planning/dreaming. For me it changes daily, but I think I'm settling on the D FA* 70-200 F2.8 and some local buzzards in the late afternoon!
DFA 50/1.4 of course

Just put in a pre-order, black body

15mm Limited, night, train station. Then probably 55-300 PLM for moving trains or some birds.

I'm going to put the 50mm plastic fantastic on the k3-3, if I get one, and then put my other 50mm plastic fantastic on my KP, then take them both out for a side by side comparison.

So, I intend to introduce it in a formal way to my lens collection showing appropiate respect..... so as per most traditional world cultures..... it will be introduced to the elders first.... and the children last (the only exception to the children bit.... will of course.... be me... I'll be the kid that stares at the stranger.... touching their new to me bits etc....and leads him/her into the village).

So.... SMC K 50/1.2 first up.... lucky it is silver....

Now.... to choose an appropiate beverage for the occasion....... since I'm getting a silver one... probally needs to be white.... with a hint of sweetness.... maybe also a fresh baked baguette with some Port Salut cheese.
This really deserves a like

upon receiving my Silver Premium K 3 III and the assorted goodies

the first question is not what lens to use but

do I open the box ?

aren't you suppose to keep a collectable in the original unopened box to keep its value ?

wanna bet how long that idea will last ?

As long as it takes to put in a charged battery, an SD card, and mount a lens when I get mine

Black 43 with a silver hood - just to see how it looks. The 43 is my go lens for any new camera. 2nd will more than likely be the A100/2.8 Macro just to test MF through the new OVF and see how the live view works. Next up will be a SuperTakumar 50/1.4 - I've a bevy of lens to try out, looking for different things.
