Its nice to have a compact APS-C kit again. Today, I was out with the SMC 15mm Ltd. so light and small.

A couple of old masters on moving day..
I was out with my K3iii yesterday with the 15mm, it is a nice small package!

Got up early this morning to get some sunrise pics and as I was packing up to go home for some brekky I saw that
the Kookaburras were back checking out last years nesting hole.

Fabulous shots and a great example of the predictive capabilities of the camera.
Thank you. Firmware 1.41 really woke the camera up!

more photos of Greater Prairie Chickens from the lek near Great Bend Kansas

crop and pp

the first was taken at 07:11 AM and the second at 07:14 AM during what is called " civil twilight " which started at 6:53 AM:

Civil twilight occurs when the Sun is less than 6 degrees below the horizon. In the morning, civil twilight begins when the Sun is 6 degrees below the horizon and ends at sunrise . . . Civil twilight is the brightest form of twilight. There is enough natural sunlight during this period that artificial light may not be required to carry out outdoor activities. Only the brightest celestial objects can be observed by the naked eye during this time. . . .

actual sunrise was about 7:20 AM

A few shots from the past week. Getting the gull shots to look decent took a bit of work!

Just grabbed a snack!

The two BIFs are great (especially the one with the caught fish! Love the green frog image! (I can almost hear him saying "OK, ya got me!")

Cool shots! I saw quite a lot of competition here for nesting holes between various parrots and Kookaburras.
