Those shout quite loudly that the K-3iii is not like anything that has worn the badge before.

Wow...

K-3 III / DA 1.4 AW / DFA * 70-200 / AF360FTZ. My first real shot, as its raining, overcast and dark [as usual in my back yard]. Only fun thing to note so far, I have the crop mode in the viewfinder on and no I am not shooting raw/jpg. For some reason I really like the crop outline, it may not be for everyone but i really like it for now...when the rain stops I will test AF-C...Also no lens adjustments needed for any of my lenses....

Tried my K3-III for the first time today. Nothing too advanced to start with - I basically set it up the way I have with my K-3 - TAv, 1/000, f10 except for a bit of experimentation, centre spot focus, with my DA*300 mm plus DA1.4xTC. All of these images are significant crops.

I was expecting the DA* 300 to slow things down a bit, but sometimes it was fast and other times the focus was slow to lock. Need to take another loook at the settings.

I must have taken more than a dozen shots of this Ruby-crowned Kinglet but this is the only one that worked. On the other hand it's a tiny bird and flits around in the brush very quickly.

Nice shot. So the question is whether you would have gotten it without the K-3iii.

I do a lot of bird photography and that can often leave you pushing the boundaries of what the camera can do. My six year-old K-3 is not fast on locking focus, and coupled with the SDM on my DA*300mm that has it frustrations when trying to lock onto a tiny bird that doesn't stay still for an instant. I may have been able to get the shot with my K-3 as I'm sometimes lucky but I need to experiment with the K-3 III settings to see what works best - I expect at least some improvement. Also the image was cropped and is only about a quarter the size of the original and I think it stood up pretty well - the improved image claimed for the K-3 III may have had something to do with that. The K-3 III would have been a greater benefit in poor light when the noise from the K-3 would have been more evident in a crop.
I'm also looking for improvements in depth of field using higher ISO for groups of birds and better tracking of birds in flight.

I'm coming in hot!
Instance of "raise the camera, fire and hope it turned out". I could NEVER do this with the K-3

Know that feeling of -could never do this-. Good News is that those days are over now. Seems like many has this success now with K-3III...

I was keen to try an 'up shot' and see how easy it was with Image Sync. Nothing fancy but an Auto shot..
