thanks for the compliment

the " hey, you're in the way " caption

was talking about how the ump blocked the view of the play

as well as how the catcher was blocking the runner from the plate

Very nice shots to all of sports action, action figures & bird life.

My contribution is attached below(I hope). Spent about an hour & half watching a Pileated Woodpecker pair feed their young. I was so focused on not missing the action at the nest hole I didn't pay enough attention to the FL setting on my FA*80-200. This resulted in heavily cropped images, which is fine for social media but not for large prints.

thank you for your kind comments

the " models " were great to work with and we got it all on the first take

Seriously, in my limited experience, photographing base ball, just like watching the game live, really present only a few " great " action opportunities and unless you are ready they are easy to miss

anticipation of " expected " action can be key - play at first, pick off attempts. stealing a base, double plays, play at home

[ the AF caught the safety net severally times and did not focus on my intended targets ]

and yes it is easy to lose yourself in the camera and miss the overall game
I like the top one. It's got a "feel;" and out of the ordinary.

Some flat Ontario Canada Scenery, a damaged building from our freak storm yesterday and an impromptu shoot with my car (I had to cross the road and stand in the ditch for this angle).
All shot with the DA* 16-50 PLM

Taken with Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC lens on tripod. ISO 400, 1.6 sec at f/4.6 at 20mm. Deliberately underexposed with details retrieved in Lightroom Classic.

Used - acceptable K-3 III arrived from Amazon UK yesterday, damaged box, marks on top and rear screens. Box was damaged, missing USB lead but the camera itself is mint. First file through shutter count web side read 0 so unused.
