I tried tracking swallows this past weekend, with perhaps a 25% hit rate and probably less. They're tough to photograph. You make it look easy, 9 at once!

Yes, they are very challenging indeed! This is the best I could manage (same place, different occasion):

Today lunch-time hunting. Global warming sucks, it is second time I saw bigger snow this winter which is sad cause trains look nice in bad weather.

With 20-40mm Limited, SOOC, modified bleach bypass. X-posted with planes, trains and boats thread.

Nice of them to leave that gap so you can get a good picture of the sunset.

Yeah, and you don't have any idea how crowded the photographs were installed on my back to get aligned with the bridge's opening...

I took full advantage of the improved AF and high ISO performance for some concert photography last weekend. Some of my favorite musicians were in town playing small intimate venues!
I saw two shows Saturday, both with John Medeski in them. I shot it all with the K-3iii & SMC 16-50/2.8 (screwdrive converted).
All shot at ISO 6400

First was a band called Cool Cool Cool which played funk and soul and Medeski sat in for a few songs.

Next up and a smaller club was the band I was most excited about, Club d'Elf which also includes John Medeski

Band leader Mike Rivard and David Fiuczynski

DJ Mr. Rourke

John Medeski

I lived in Maine for nearly two decades and never saw anything remotely like that. What was the scenario? Obviously some unique environment, but I can't imagine what.
