A Mark III in right hand, a water hose in the left hand, and some good light....

I am soooo impressed with the MkIII shake reduction. This is 55-300 PLM lens zoomed all the way out and handheld with my shaky hands! It is cropped too. The shake reduction is truly improved a LOT!

First day out with the new toy and the DFA 150-450. It will take a while to get the setup sorted but it was easy to translate my basic K1ii setup to the K3iii and get a few shots (weather not great here today). Most noticeable differences after a couple of years shooting the K1ii are: the K3ii is a very compact camera, hi-fps is very quick (11fps vs 4fps) and quiet, even a single shot is fast in duration, quiet and no vibration - very smooth, viewfinder is nice like the K1, menu's are extensive but quick to navigate (touch screen is great when typing custom User mode names), AF-S is fast and accurate & AF-C was accurate to track a couple of birds flying and looks promising, ISO noise looks similar to the K1 on the few photos to date but early days (the attached photos were ISO 1250 & 1600 and I gave them a touch of NR in LR) but the K1 is much better than my old K3 so K3iii users coming from a K3/K3ii will see a big improvement, camera feels great in hand, not sure I like the photo replay button position (a bit of stretch to reach it with my thumb). Photo IQ looks very good with fine detail.

Powerful Owl roosting.

Those racing shots are impressive! Were you shooting any of it in burst mode?
Thank you,

Yes I was shooting in burst mode and in pan mode (the K3-III has a specific mode for it) most of the time as I do use burst mode in my K3 and K3-II in order to get some shots in focus

Got my K3III yesterday... but haven't done much with it..... just greyish weather here..... but I guess I should post something.... so 50% crop of an everyday pelican... sorry in advance! My thoughts about the K3III mirror RedBoomer's above.... pretty simple to pick up and use.... DXO won't recognise the DNG raw files... so can't play with the prime denoising.... files load into lightroom off the SD cards nice and fast.

150-450

For now I've reassigned the lock button which matches the K3.

Reassigned Replay and DPad bottom button (brightness), swapping places. For me that's now a perfect arrangement with all the preview/zoom/image review controls in one place.

I'm not sure why you're apologising, because that's a lovely shot! I didn't get much time to take photos today, and no time to actually configure the camera.

Great shots of the Powerful Owl! I wish I could see one again! I haven't heard of any being spotted in the ACT for a while now.

Maybe we need to hassle DXO to add the K3iii lens combinations?

Yes, they reportedly are trying to get it ready for the next update, but not making promises as I read it.

I predict that this thread will cause a lot of members to want the K3 III

and be eager to get one if and when the price drops
And it is making me very impatient at my pre-order not having been fulfilled yet.
