BTW, your Honeyeater is an amazing sharp photo! 450mm must be the 150-450 lens? I gotta get one of those.
Thanks! Yes, it's the DFA 150-450 on the K3iii. It's a great lens! I'll have to advertise my DA*300 for sale.

Nicely detailed capture, the little Hawk has made a name for itself worldwide!

Very nice! One cool thing is that you can clearly see how the wingman is focused on the lead aircraft in the formation.

Congrats! I'm very disappointed that this promotion wasn't run in Australia. Having said that, I did get one of these through Pentax in Japan.

Spent last week at Gluepot (a Mallee bush bird reserve in South Australia).... a bit quiet (bird wise) there at the moment... anyway did some longish walks so just took the F*300/4.5 on my K3III.... the lazy kit (as opposed to the 150-450).

just some opportunity shots... nothing remarkable.

and some non F*300 shots

DFA 150-450 at 150

and at 450

and.... not a K3III shot... but this is what camping at Gluepot looks like....

Not having the 150-450, I can’t remark on its physical characteristics, but I do have the Sigma 150-500 so I wouldn’t call the F*300 a lazy kit, more like an agile kit or a back-saver kit (but it is a great combination with the K-3iii).

Come to that, the merits of both kits are well-displayed in these photos. Not to mention the photographer’s.

He'd better be focused or else they both might have a bit of a problem. What's fun is flying close echelon in a rotary wing aircraft, rotating rotor blades don't mesh nearly as well as fixed wings.

This offer came from Ricoh; that's where I purchased the camera (the price was the same everywhere). In fact Ricoh satisfied my immediate gratification.

Some recent shots.
Dragonflies in flight on Z-axis (not hovering) in the worst lighting possible lol.
And then some wildlife from the weekend. It was so hot that the birds just didn't want to fly

A windy Friday night camping trip with the new camper. Followed by a super-smoky morning from the CA and OR fires (yuck).

True! The only close flying I've seen with helicopters was displays by RAAF Squirrels and the "mating dance of the Chinooks" they used to do at Amberley. Seeing two Chinooks nose to nose is fun, but most people wouldn't understand how much skill was required.
