How the K-3 III sees the world Both images are SOOC, made with Sigma 17-50 f2.8. First is out of RAW, no modification, resolved in ACDSee. Second is in camera JPG with reversible film.

Hmmmmm, I like the SOOC version better. The out of focus background colors aren't nearly as muted and the foreground blossom seems to pop more.

Great shots! I wish I could go into a different area to see some different birds.

just some opportunity shots... nothing remarkable.

and some non F*300 shots

DFA 150-450 at 150

and at 450

and.... not a K3III shot... but this is what camping at Gluepot looks like....

A very nice collection of shots of some small birds, Noel. Bit dubious about your definition of "camping" - but it looks like a great "get away from it all" set-up!

Some recent shots.
Dragonflies in flight on Z-axis (not hovering) in the worst lighting possible lol.
And then some wildlife from the weekend. It was so hot that the birds just didn't want to fly
Hi Kobie - I'm guessing that the photos were taken with the HDDA 55-300 PLM? I'm keen to see what I can catch in Spring with the same combination.

The second with Tamron SP AF 17-50 which seams not so sharp with K3 III -
Butterfly shot is great!! Can't see anything too much wrong with the duck image, either, Yaki.

It's OK but it's just not that sharp. Nothing more. Thanks

Have you tried doing the AF fine adjustment? It seems the K-3 iii is more demanding in that regard than earlier bodies were.

It is either this or 55-300 really has some issues with resolution. @Kobie also mentioned it in his comparission of 55-300 and ... 150-450 I think? That with 55-300 PLM fine details start to get unsharp, the farther away they are (or higher lengths are used?). Dunno if this is an issue with some lenses or general property of this lens. I think the second as I had same issues with 55-300 PLM on K-50 as I have on K-3 III.

To keep OT in check, this is from my last trip to Krakow, with Sigma 17-50. SooC with reversible film colour profile. Crossposted with SooC topic

Yup. That's correct. It just doesn't have the resolving power for really distant objects. Or very small objects that don't fill at least 1/3 of the frame give or take.

My personal observation is that 55-300 is sharper then the other lens I used - Tamron 17-50q but I don't have 150-450 or 300* to compare resolution. I suppose those lenses are better but I can`t complain from my 55-300 PLM.

This is with a "new to me" 15mm HD Ltd. SOOC using the iPhone app to transfer to Flickr. I love it. So easy.

ISO 100
20 sec
f9
I used a tripod and remembered to turn off shake reduction.
