One more of the headliner. It was cool when the sun was coming through the fog (from a machine)

Yes that sounds complicated, with not as much light in there :S
I was shooting first at 1/640sec but it was too high to capture light with F4 and Iso up to 6400.
So then I just decreased it to 1/320sec and later to 1/250sec. And got some results. You just need to play with the shutter speeds and have patience.
Agreed! More experimentation needed.

Great shot.

I'm curious...were you in auto white balance or did you select it?

This is fantastic. One of the genres I like to shoot too. I would personally be very happy if I had taken this photo.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm happy with it too.
I kind of want to ask the venue manager (a friend of mine) to borrow the smoke machine sometime for some fun photos.

I didn't know that was even a genre you were interested in. I recall a LOT of great landscapes from you, but not gig stuff.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm a big music fan and we have a pretty good music scene here for being a smaller community. Plus my son plays gigs every now and then too.
I shoot a variety of genres as the opportunities present themselves but landscape is one I always come back to and probably enjoy the most.
I've had summers with a lot of music shoots (2-3 a week at a local venue I work with) and then of course last summer there were none.
Looks like I have 120 images on Flickr tagged with "live music".

Thank you
I used auto white balance.
my contribution to the shot is only choosing the aperture, speed, max.ISO -12800 and focus point. And pressing the shutter if that counts
Everything else did the K3-III

The FA100 Macro and ring flash like the K3III.

The new sensor doesn't seem to oversaturate red as much as some of the previous ones had.
