Hello,

Less than 100 shots, still learning the new functions compared to a K3 mark one.

Welcome! Your close-up of the cat is a keeper.

I'm looking at these two lovely bird photos and I can't help but notice the drastic difference in noise and clarity, with the lower ISO shot being much noisier. Is the EXIF data wrong or what has contributed to this?

I take it that you're enjoying the K-3iii !!

It's taken me a while to fully appreciate how much better it is than the predecessors. Still love my K-1, but if it moves the K-3iii is the tool!

I have only had it a few days, the amount of different settings on the camera is verging on insane tbh. I still have my K-1 as well but I have wanted to try the K-3 III tracking since release but after getting burned by Pentax's autofocus promises many times before I wasn't prepared to spend the release price to find out.

First impressions weren't too good tbh and I very nearly sold it on straight away but after trying it again today with different settings I'm starting to like it a bit more although I missed a Marsh harrier this afternoon because I got totally confsued with all the controls (doesn't help that I use other makes as well)

Really need to splash out on the grip though ....

I don't know what editor Paul used, but I've used the AI noise reduction from DxO on mine, which is probably what you're seeing. I make an initial TIFF file from the raw image with DxO, then a JPEG using Paintshop. DxO doesn't give me the sort of tools I want for making the final jpeg.
